Team CSG Spotlight: Lisa Newell

Lisa has over 25 years of project management experience in both the public and private sectors. She possesses broad experience in many programs, including unemployment insurance (UI), revenue/tax, healthcare and human services, child welfare, and education. She started her career as a software developer and programmer before transitioning into business analysis and project management for complex system implementations. Prior to joining CSG, Lisa contributed to UI and workforce modernization projects across several states, eventually managing the implementation of a new UI system for the New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions. In this role, she led key aspects of the project through the full system development life cycle, from conducting requirements management and design sessions, to managing user acceptance testing and ensuring successful implementation and maintenance and operations support.

Throughout her tenure at CSG, Lisa has led project management office, independent verification and validation, quality assurance, and process improvement projects for agencies across the country spanning several programs. Currently, she serves as the Project Manager providing business consulting services for the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity’s UI modernization program. She provides implementation support including testing management, federal reporting, and supporting stakeholders in data-driven decision making.

Lisa says, “Throughout my career, I have supported state, local, and corporate entities in various roles on large modernization projects. None of the projects have been the same, but all successful in their unique ways. A big part of my good fortune has been to work for CSG – the people, the culture, and the range of projects truly make CSG exceptional. I am very happy to be a part of it.”

Thank you, Lisa, for the valuable expertise and insight you bring to the public sector! We appreciate the impact you have made.
