Team CSG Spotlight: Kyle Miller

Kyle is a Certified Information Systems Security and Cloud Security Professional with more than 30 years of experience working with public sector IT systems. He launched his career as an application developer and system architect for the U.S. Military, local governments, and private sector firms before joining Intermountain Health Care in 1996, one of the largest nonprofit health systems. As the Security Administrator, he was responsible for leading the information systems security team through pivotal technology shifts such as implementation of electronic data interchanges, enactment of the HIPAA Security Rule, and Y2K planning, testing, and risk mitigation efforts.

The lessons that Kyle learned through these major advancements poised him well to join the Oregon Department of Human Services and Oregon Health Authority in 2004 as the Chief Information Security Officer. He spent seven years leading the agencies in establishing and maintaining the highest level of privacy and information security processes and protocols to ensure protection of the State’s systems and data.

Kyle went on to work for one of the world’s largest system implementation vendors as an information security and privacy consultant before joining CSG in 2016. He has applied his expertise to support more than a dozen CSG clients in improving their security posture through the assessment, planning, and implementation of strong system security plans and privacy controls that comply with federal requirements.

“My fascination with security and privacy started while stationed in Berlin, Germany during the later part of the Cold War. While there I learned that there are many bad actors using technology as a weapon, so I chose my career path to help protect against them. Working in both the public and private sectors has allowed me to bring compassion and efficiencies to the public sector. I am looking forward to my future adventures.”

Thank you, Kyle, for dedicating your career to helping protect the private information of those who rely on government services!
