Developing Ohio’s MITA 3.0 State Self-Assessment

The Ohio Department of Medicaid (ODM) delivers health care coverage to more than 2.7 million residents of the State. The agency is continuously working to improve the broad healthcare landscape in Ohio. In the Medicaid program, ODM is committed to the efficient utilization of taxpayer funds, and the delivery of quality services to providers and beneficiaries. ODM’s Medicaid modernization efforts include the launch of their recent MITA 3.0 SS-A project.

Looking Beyond the MMIS

ODM selected CSG to develop their MITA 3.0 SS-A, taking a broad view of the Medicaid enterprise. This effort included analyzing the core MMIS, as well as an additional 18 supporting systems. CSG provided business, information, and technical architecture training to over 120 State staff and created a Concept of Operations detailing the future vision of the State’s Medicaid program. The team then developed a roadmap for the Medicaid enterprise, enabling the State to reach a higher level of MITA maturity, and increase operational efficiency, modularity, and interoperability.
