P.J. has dedicated her more than 40-year career to applying the use of technology to improve public sector healthcare and human services programs. She worked with the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) for decades, starting off in Human Resources prior to transferring to Information Technology as a systems analyst and progressing into various Manager and Director-level positions. Her recognition as a distinguished leader at HHSC led her to becoming the Medicaid and CHIP Applications Director where she served eight years before taking on the role of Deputy CIO for Day-to-Day Operations in 2021. In this role, P.J. oversaw a large portfolio of critical IT systems modernization and implementation projects that spanned Medicaid and other vital health and social services programs to provide reliable, consistent delivery of services to more than 5.4 million of Texas’ most vulnerable citizens. She also held an active role at the national level as the co-chair of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services Systems Technical Advisory Group.
P.J. joined CSG in 2023, bringing her wealth of knowledge and expertise to our clients and team. She is currently serving as a Business Analyst on CSG’s IV&V project for Vermont’s Medicaid Enterprise Systems modernization, helping our clients navigate complex federal policy and funding requirements.
PJ says, “From the time I started working for the Texas Department of Public Welfare, which over the years became today’s Health and Human Services Commission, I embraced the mission of serving less fortunate Texans. I am excited to share those experiences working with other states as a consultant at CSG Government Solutions.”
Thank you, P.J., for your unwavering commitment to advancing HHS programs!
